Thomas Mayer Jr.

Tom Mayer Jr. is the founder and director of Mayer Applied Science, providing a strong technical foundation in the areas of machine design, fabrication and molding of composite structures, and medical device technology. Prior to founding MAS, Tom held a number of positions in R&D and Quality in the medical device field and has led numerous projects encompassing technologies in orthopaedics and in the treatment of diabetes.

Tom graduated from Drexel University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Control System Design.

Dragan Avirovikj, PhD

Dragan is a mechanical engineer with expertise in mechanical design, prototyping, manufacturing, testing, verification and risk management. As a mechanical engineer, Dragan has spent most of his professional experience in the semiconducting industry and the medical device industry. He has been involved in the development of numerous projects, from wearable devices, endoscopes and medical carts, to smart materials, and mechatronics modules.

Dragan earned his B.S. and Ph.D in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech.

Cameron Young

Cameron Young serves as a consulting engineer with a particular interest in electromechanical design & intellectual property development. He has a diverse range of prototyping experience ranging from 3D printing to manual machining. Cameron is continually researching new technologies in order to provide customers with flexible solutions to technical challenges.

Cameron graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering while specializing in the design of biomedical devices.

 

Nicholas Erekovcanski

Serving as a Design Engineer on the team, Nick's background encompasses a wide range of areas within the Medical Device Industry such as Product Development, Injection Molding, Design for Manufacturing, Test Method Development and Product Remediation.  Nick has worked on devices ranging from complex cardiac surgery instruments to high volume devices exceeding one billion units annually. 

Nick is a NJIT graduate, where he completed both his Bachelor's and Master's in Biomedical Engineering.

Matthew Mayer

Matt Mayer is a co-founder of Mayer Applied Science, contributing to business development and the organizational efficiency of the company. In addition to founding MAS, Matt has held a number of positions in Private Banking and Operational Risk and Control as part of some of the largest banking institutions in the world. He also spent some time away from the corporate world honing his technical skills in computer programming.

Matt graduated from the University of Delaware with a BS in Finance. He also studied Six Sigma and Lean methodologies at Villanova University.
